A foreigner was arrested in the area of Thesprotia , against whom a criminal case was filed for transporting illegal immigrants, as well as for illegal entry into the country and driving a vehicle without a relevant driving license.
In particular, police officers of the Igoumenitsa Security Sub-Directorate spotted the foreigner driving an I.X.E. car owned by him, without being the holder of a relevant driving license and with 5 illegal immigrants riding in it.
The police investigation revealed that the driver had picked up the 5 foreigners from the area of Ilia in order to transport them near the Greek-Albanian border for a fee, so that they could then illegally leave the country for Albania.
The above car, mobile phone and a sum of 220 euros were confiscated.
The arrested were taken to the Criminal Prosecutor of Thesprotia.
