Sources say Tokyo police have taken four suspects into custody in connection with robbery of a luxury watch shop in Tokyo’s Ginza shopping district.
Several men barged into the shop around 6:30 p.m. on Monday. They threatened to kill sales clerks with a knife, smashed the showcase glass and got away with the merchandise. The clerks were not hurt.
Investigative sources say the police detained four suspects in the Akasaka district after a manhunt. Three of them are believed to have actually entered the shop.
The shop is located in an area lined with restaurants and shops selling designer brands and luxury goods about 400 meters west of the Ginza subway station.
